Sharlene Vanderblock

MA, LPCC, EMDR

Ancestral Storyweaver | Embodied Science Educator | Root Worker

Sharlene Vanderblock (she/her) is a Boulder-based holistic therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate (LPCC) who specializes in identity development, complex relational trauma, and cultural healing. She offers integrative therapy for individuals, couples, and families seeking deeper connection, healing, and belonging.

Sharlene’s work supports clients recovering from early attachment wounds, including childhood emotional neglect, while navigating life transitions such as parenting, career change, and academic stress. She is particularly skilled in working with clients exploring BIPOC and immigrant identity, including multicultural and mixed-race relationship dynamics. Her approach emphasizes decolonization, ancestral reconnection, and liberation-based healing.

With an MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Naropa University’s Mindfulness-Based Transpersonal Counseling program, Sharlene brings a strong foundation in trauma-informed therapy modalities. She integrates EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), Internal Family Systems (IFS), Gestalt therapy, somatic therapy, and social justice counseling. Her work is further informed by her background as a science educator and geographer, her deep understanding of developmental psychology, and her lived experience as a second-generation immigrant and mother.

Sharlene brings compassion, curiosity, and cultural humility into each session. Her therapy practice is grounded in creating a safe, inclusive space where clients can reconnect with their truth, cultivate resilience, and experience embodied transformation.

Sharlene currently offers trauma-informed therapy online across Colorado and in-person therapy in Boulder.
